Goats appreciate warm, almost hot water in winter. They can drink a lot, and it won't chill them. This helps keep milk production up. By feeding hot water, you can water bucks and dry stock just once a day so that pails aren't left to freeze in pens. To keep water from freezing in buckets, try using our 9 quart heated bucket. Any of our other products water heating products will also provide your goats with warm water 24 hours a day.

There are as many different "right" ways to feed goats as there are breeders. One breeder challenge-feeds her dairy goats. Milking does got a pound of grain for every two pounds of milk they produced. Another breeder feeds alfalfa hay free choice but limited grain. Dry does got no grain at all. Milkers got three pounds of grain a day, no more.

The most effective way to keep horns off dairy goats is to disbud kid goats with a hot iron before they are a month old. Usually you should disbud kids at 4 to 10 days of age. _x000D_
